Overwatch – a game with future

Overwatch is a simple, but complex game at the same time. I say simple because it hasn’t a story that you need to get through it. It is an online shooter, you enter and then you fight with your friends. No more. It has several modes of play, but nothing too hard to understand.

The interesting part comes when you select a game mode and realize what is actually happening. You don’t receive a champion with a game and then shoot whoever you want. Nothing like that. Things get complicated, you notice that there are 21 different champions, each with a specific role, and isn’t necessarily to have the best score of the team.

If you ask me, I would say it is kind of Dota and LoL, but as a shooter. I know it sounds very stupid what I said, but it is true and in the next lines you will understand why.

I said above that the game hasn’t a story that you need to go through and all that happened you will be told from the beginning. So, the humanity was in danger thus a team has formed names obviously, Overwatch, to protect the planet, the have succeeded, after which the team was disbanded and mankind is again in danger. But someone manages to reunite the team and the work goes on.

As I said the story does not influence you at all, you don’t have a story mode. It’s just a story for your soul to know what happened and you haven’t been thrown in a game for nothing.

Regarding the gameplay, if you have played LoL or Dota you will understand very quickly what it is all about. If not, you will take some time to catch up. For starters, the game offers you 4 game modes: Quick Play, Play vs AI, Custom Game and Mystery Heroes. The most played mode is Quick Play, but if you want to train and learn the game better, I recommend Play vs AI.

The graphics are not very complex, the game could run on a potato. That’s the point of an online game to be played by anyone. Although I am convinced that they can make optimizations in this chapter. The sounds are ok, everything is exciting and you’re set. I would prefer to hear notification when I kill someone, because in many cases I didn’t know if I or my colleagues have done a double kill.
